BOXING
BOUTE AT WELLINGTON. HAMILTON HAS HIS REVENGE. Before a crowded house at the Wellington Town Hall last night, Billy Hamilton (Victoria) had his revenge on Dommy Ganzon (Philippine Islands), in a professional boxing contest scheduled for ten rounds. Doing most of the leading throughout, the Victorian landed a perfectly-timed right to the point at the opening of the seventh round and the Filipino took the full count.
Two other professional bouts were staged. Brian McKay (Hastings), 9st. 2Hbs., outpointed Tommy Hansen (Wellington), 9st. 41bs., over eight three-minute rounds, and Joe Hansen (Wellington), Bst. 12Jlbs., scored a technical knock-out over Norm Tanner (Wellington), Bst. s’lbs., in the last round of a six-round contest.
