CHINESE SETBACK
LOSS OF MATANG BOOM .. ADMITTED PREPARATIONS TO OPPOSE ADVANCE ALONG THE SOUTH BANK OF THE YANGTSE (Recd This Day, 12.40 p.m.) SHANGHAI, June 30. The Chinese admit loss of the Matang boom, but are assembling troops to oppose a Japanese advance westward along the south bank of the Yangtse Kiang.
