COSY THEATRE

“SHE COULDN’T TAKE IT.” “She Couldn’t Take It,” will be the star picture tonight at the Cosy Theatre. This is the film that has heaped new honours on George Raft, and Joan Bennett. Raft, seen as the determined ex-gangster, Spot Ricardi, , returns to a comedy-tempered modification of his famous roles in “Scarface,” “Quick Millions” and “Hush Money.” Miss Bennett plays opposite Raft as the petulant, madcap heiress who gets her own way once too often. Featured in the supporting cast are Walter Connolly, patriarch and patron of his family's tempestuous escapades; Billie Burke, as his giddy, scatter-brained wife, and Wallace Ford. The second feature is “The Lone Wolf Returns,” featuring Melvyn Douglas and Gail Patrick.
