4 NEW ZEALAND SYMPATHY ACKNOWLEDGED DEATH OF THE COUNTESS OF STRATHMORE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The following message has been received by the Governor-General in reply to one which his Excellency sent to the Queen on the occasion of the death of her Majesty’s mother, the Countess of Strathmore: —“I am deeply grateful to you and to the Government and people of New Zealand for your kind message of sympathy in my great loss. Please convey to them my heartfelt thanks. (Signed) Elizabeth R.”
