SHORT AWARD
BY AGREEMENT OF PARTIES IN OTAGO. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. When the Otago and Southland Metal Workers’ Assistants’ dispute was called in the Arbitration Court today, an announcement was made that in order to allow time to negotiate for a Dominion award, both parties had agreed to a short award of a month’s duration. Accordingly, the Court fixed the award, with the existing conditions retained, the only difference being that wages were brought into conformity with the Court’s pronouncement as to standard rates.
