JAPAN’S REPLY TO PROTESTS. TERRITORIAL AMBITIONS DENIED. LONDON. June 27. The Anglo-French warning to Japan (reported in an earlier cablegram) not only concerns Hainan, but other Chinese islands in the vicinity of Hong Kong and Indo-China. Britain has already, either singlehanded or with France, lodged five protests, to which the Japanese have replied that they have no territorial ambitions.
