CHILD WAR VICTIMS
SHOP DAY IN MASTERTON. Amongst China’s millions of destitute are many thousands of. little children who have lost both home and parents. The Association for Wai' Refugee Children, with Madame Chiang Kai-shek at its head, is appealing for funds, the immediate object of which is to house, feed, clothe and educate in a simple way 20,000 children, and later as many more as funds will allow. Other funds are being established for the rescue of destitute Spanish children. An opportunity of assisting these child victims' of war will be given the public of Masterton on Wednesday next. A jumble stall and shop day is being held at the old premises of the Technical School wool classes in Dixon Street. Gifts of goods of any description will be appreciated and may be left at the room after 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, or 9 a.m. on Wednesday. A generous response of- givers and buyers is confidently expected for so worthv a cause.
