WAIRARAPA CLUB'S MEETING. PHYSICK CUP AND CLASS STAKES. There was a good attendance of spectators at the Wairarapa Coursing Club’s meeting on Saturday, when, besides a consolation stakes, two events were decided, the Phy sick Challenge Cup contest and the class stakes. Only two hares in 26 courses failed to reach cover. Some outstanding form was shown by the competing greyhounds, the final for the cup being a thrilling duel between W. James's The Clipper and L. H. Jones's Rereatu, the former winning by three points to two. The consolation stakes for dogs beaten in the first round of each event resulted in a win for Archer brothers’ Golden King, which beat W. Williams’s Orui Girl 5i to 5. R. Alien’s Gold Boa defeated T. McCord's Welcome Footsteps 3 to 11 in the class stake. Results of the events are as follow: Physick Challenge Cup. First round: Welcome News beat Golden King, 3/11; The Clipper beat Black Rufus 4/11; Rereatu beat Orui Girl 10/4; Big Ben beat Silver Paper 3/1; Why Hurry, a bye. Second round: The Clipper beat Welcome News, 71/41; Rereatu beat Why Hurry, 74/0; Big Ben, a bye. Semi-final: The Clipper beat Big Ben, 4170; Rereatu. a bye. Final: W. James's The Clipper beat L. H. Jones’s Rereatu, 3/2. Class Stakes. First round: Lady Failsworth beat Welcome Footsteps, 31/2; Lady Hurley beat Advance Acre, 5/21; Aristocrat beat Flash Diamond, 7J/1; X British Pride beat Gold Boa, 8/21. Second round: Lady Hurley beat Lady Failsworth, 4/0; British Pi-ide beat Aristocrat, 3/1. Final: W. L. Jensen's Lady Hurley beat Mrs A. Mosen’s British Pride, 8/3.
