ATTACKS ON SHIPS
BRITISH AGENT RECALLED TO LONDON FRANCO’S EXPLANATION AWAITED. BOMBING OF THE THORPE NESS AND SUNION. (British Official Wireless.) (Recd This Day, 11.3 a.m.) RUGBY, June 24. Sir Robert Hodgson (British Agent, to General Franco), who has been directed to return to London to consult with the Government on the situation arising from the repeated "bombing of British ships, is expected early next week. It is hoped that he will bring General Franco’s reply to protests against the attacks on the Thorpe Ness and the Sunion.
