THE GESTAPO

ACTIVITIES IN UNITED STATES INVESTIGATION BY GRAND JURY. FLIGHT OF WITNESSES. NEW YORK, June 23. The “New York Times” states that it is understood that the grand jury will look into the activities in the United States of the Gestapo (Nazi Secret Police) as being the power which coerced valuable witnesses to flee the country. It will also investigate the National Socialist Political Commissars, who control German ships’ crews. It is also learned that besides Carl Hermann, identified as being a Gestapo agent in New York and now held as a material witness, there is also a man called Ewald Rosenberg, a member of the same organisation who is believed to have fled to Germany.
