Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows' for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 30.47. Shade temperature: Maximum 44.8, minimum 36.9, terrestrial 29.5. Sunshine, 2 hours 42 min. Rain, 8 points. Frost, .9 degrees. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 13 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.
General situation: A rather intense anti-cyclone is moving from the eastern Tasman Sea on to New Zealand. Pressure is again falling over eastern Australia. Forecast" Light to moderate and variable winds with northerlies gradually predominating. Weather fair to fine with milder days but cold night temperatures and some sharp frosts.
