ENGINEER RESIGNS

TRIBUTE PAID TO SERVICES. At yesterday’s meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board, the chairman, Mr A. C. Pearce, reported that the power house engineer, Mr H. Lambert, had tendered his resignation, after having been in the employ of the board for about fifteen years. Mr Pearce made special reference to the long and competent service which Mr Lambert had rendered loz the board, very often under unusual and trying conditions and to the long hours he had worked in cases of trouble or breakdowns to get the plant in operation again. It was decided to record in the minutes the board’s appreciation of Mr Lambert's loyal and excellent services and to grant him three months’ leave on full pay.
