DISPERSAL SALE. MR. J. L. HECKLER’S STUD. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited report on the dispersal of sale of Mr J. L. Heckler's Jersey Stud as follows: —There was a large and representative gathering of Jersey breeders and dairymen, and we are pleased to. report a very successful sale. The cows came forward in really good order and this in addition to their widely known qualities were factors which materially assisted towards the satisfactory termination of this Stud. The weather was not as good as could be wished, but the vendor had thoughtfully provided adequate shelter for the buyers who were able to survey the sale in comfort. The arrangements for yarding the cattle were handily arranged so that no time was lost between lots and the interest of buyers was held throughout despite the fact that the offering was an exceptionally large one for a pedigree sale. Top price for the day was lOOgns, this price being paid by a Manawatu buyer for the leading herd sire, Te Aute Sybil’s Marvel, an exceptionally well bred animal and one who is leaving very creditable stock. Top price for females was 52gns for “Heckler Sunlight.” Owing to the size of his stud Mr Heckler has not tested his cattle, but judging from the general type and quality of the offering there seems little doubt that some of these cows which are going to small select studs will prove a very profitable purchase. Although the offering included a number of cows which were unsound in the udders and a few suitable only for breeding purposes, the whole of the catalogue—comprising 134 lots —averaged 16Jgns. We quote main sales as under: —To H. R. Matthews, Bunnythorpe, Bull lOOgns, cow 42gns, 52gns, heifer 12gns, cow lOgns, HJgns; Ernest Timmins, Mangamaire, cows at 23Jgns, 12gns, 12gns, Ugns, llgns; D.
