PRISONER WHO ESCAPED
BROUGHT BEFORE COURT. By Telegraph.—Press Association, PALMERSTON NORTH, June 22. Escaping from the Waikune Prison Camp on Sunday night, John Colston, aged 28, a labourer, was arrested at Levin yesterday and appeared in the Magistrate’s Court here today, charged with escaping, and also with the theft of an overcoat and other articles, valued at £3 7s 6d, from a motor car. Accused was remanded till June 27.
