TE WHARAU
GOLF NOTES. (“Times-Age” Special.) An alteration in the programme for this week’s golf has been made and instead of the President’s v. The following is the draw for the sixth round of the trophy competition to be played on Saturday next:—Men: Foreman v. Gray; A. McGregor v. W. Kummer; R. Bannister v. H. Winter; F. Cotter v. F. McKinstry; P. Kummer v. C. Schofield; E. Nitz v. N. Kummer; H. Paku v. R. Vennell; M. Paku v. J. Bannister; R. McKinstry v. T. Weston. Ladies: Mrs Read v. Mrs J. Bannister; Mrs Schofield v. Miss M. Taylor; Miss Taylor v. Mrs A. McGregor; Mrs McKinstry v. Miss McGregor; Miss Buckeridge v. Mrs Kummer; Miss Vennell v. Miss Lucas; Miss Bannister v. Mrs R. Bannister; Mrs Nitz v. Mrs Foreman. Mrs Read and Mrs J. Bannister will play a Kummerstein Cup challenge and P. Kummer and C. Schofield play a Nimmo Cup match. In Kummerstein Cup challenges played during the week Mrs J. Bannister defeated Mrs Foreman 3 and 2, and Mrs Schofield lost to Mrs J. Bannister 2 down. During the weekend the final round for the mixed foursomes will be played, and those wishing to participate should advise the secretary by Saturday in order that a draw may be arranged and handicaps allotted. WOMEN’S DIVISION DANCE. A final reminder is given of the Women’s Division dance at Te Wharau on Saturday evening. This is the annual dance in aid of the Housekeeping Scheme of the Women’s Division. Those held in the past have always been most popular, and the 1938 function promises to eclipse all previous efforts. The arrangements are in the hands of the ladies, and there will be competitions, and old and modern dances. As the object is a most deserving one it is sure to be well supported.
