Miss Coyne had an easy victory over Miss Yorke. The versatile doubles player Madame Mathieu, who defeated Miss Lizana in the quarter final last year, repeated the victory in the second round today. The Chilean failed to produce her usual clever game. In the women’s singles championship, first round, Miss M. C. Scriven (Australia) defeated Miss Jarvis 6/2. 6/4; Miss Bundy defeated Miss Morrison. 6/2, 6/2; Miss T. Coyne (Australia) defeated Miss A. M.
