Frost, 6.1 degrees. General situation: Pressure is still low to the south-east but is rising over New Zealand under the influence of an intense anti-cyclone located over the Western Tasman Sea and moving eastward. Forecast: Moderate to strong southerly to south-easterly winds, rising to gale force at times. Weather cloudy to overcast with rain probable, some heavy falls probable east of the ranges. Temperatures cold with snow on the ranges.
