DUKE OF GLOUCESTER’S APPEAL ON BEHALF OF WOMEN & CHILDREN. AND OTHER DEFENCELESS PERSONS. " (Recd This Day, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, June 20. Pointing out that the evolution of modern methods of warfare have created a new category of war sufferers, the Duke of Gloucester, in opening the International Red Cross conference’ in St. James Palace, asked the conference to consider whether it cannot usefully make its voice heard on behalf of women, children and defenceless persons.
