LONDON MARKET STEADIER The London butter market was steadier at the end of last week, according to the report received by the Primary Products Marketing Department. Friday’s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand: Salted, 119 s to 120 s (120 s to 121 s; a year ago, 110 s to Ills); unsalted, 120 s to 122 s (123 s to 1245; a year ago, Ills to 112 s). Australian: Salted, 116 s to 118 s (117 s to 118 s); unsalted, 118 s to 120 s (121 s Danish, 102 s f.0.b.; 122 s to 123 s spot (102 s to 103 s; 123 s to 1245). Dutch: Unsalted, 110 s; ex 112 s (Ills to 112 s). Lithuanian: Salted and unsalted, 114 s (115 s New Zealand butter in store on Friday totalled 5260 tons, as against 6454 tons a year ago. Australian butter in store was 4852 tons, compared with 5654 tons a year ago. The cheese market was steadier at the end of the week.
