HOODOO SHIP
MISHAPS ON H.M.S. FURIOUS. LONDON, June 19. The aircraft carrier Furious is regarded as a hoodoo ship, owing to various mishaps, which have prevented her leaving Devonport after refitting. When a waterpipe in the steering gear burst, the Admiralty denied sabotage and added that such a defect often occurs after repairs.
