The New Zealand women’s hockey team to meet the English team in the first Test match of the tour, at Christchurch on July 6, was announced at a meeting of the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Association at Wellington last evening. The selectors were Mrs J. H. Poulter (Wellington), Mr G. C. Hamilton (Gore), and Mr M. G. Moloney (Wairarapa). The team is as follows: — Goal, Miss M. Rhind (Canterbury). Full-backs, Misses A. McDonald (Eastern), W. Woolley (Marlborough), Mrs L. Askew (Auckland). Halves. Misses M. Sanson (Eastern), S. Aldridge (Canterbury), A. Mackie (Otago). Forwards, Misses M. Nicol (Eastern), JVJ- McKenzie (Canterbury), M. Sheriff (Eastern), H. McLellan (Wellington), D. Dickey (Canterbury), Mrs I. Gawler (Auckland). Miss Nicol is to be captain, and Miss Mackie vice-captain. Tire manager will be Mrs J. H. Poulter, and the coach Mr G. C. Hamilton.
