OBITUARY
MRS. C. J. LEWIS. The death occurred yesterday of Mrs Catherine Jane Lewis, an old and respected resident of Masterton, at the age of 77 years. The late Mrs Lewis, who had been in failing health for the past four years, came to New Zealand 74 years ago and had lived practically ever since in the Wairarapa. She was born in Scotland. Mrs Lewis was predeceased by her husband fifteen years ago and is survived by a family of four sons and four daughters, the members of which are Messrs O. and J. (Wellington), W. (Napier) and J. Lewis (Australia), and Mesdames J. Liddington (French Street, Masterton), H. Goodwin and L. Gallagher (both of Sydney) and C. M. Leighton (Shannon). There are sixteen grandchildren. The funeral took place this afternoon.
