HOUSEHOLD HINTS

When quilting or making many buttonholes, often the thread knots and causes delay and inconvenience. To avoid this, put a spool of thread in small container and melt enough paraffin to cover the thread. Then boil it for seven minutes, remove and let it dry for several hours before using. Save the caps from beverage bottles and cover a heavy board, the size of a door mat, with these caps, turned rough side up, and placed side by side in rows. Drive a nail through the center of each cap. This makes a good scraper for shoes.
