WRESTLING

BOUTS IN ■ MASTERTON. A most enjoyable evening’s wrestling was witnessed last Wednesday evening in the Masterton Club’s gymnasium in Dixon Street. The boys, whose ages ranged between 7 and 13 years, put considerable life into their efforts and showed that they had a good grasp of essentials of wrestlers. The two midgets kept the audience highly amused by their efforts and for boys of their age gave a good showing, as also did Ted Billington and Bert Frankenberg, who provided one of the high lights of the wrestling. Unfortunately the bout between H. Tozer and A. Neilsen came to an end in the second round when both boys went through the ropes, Tozer coming off second best and being unable to continue. The following are the results: —J. Edwards (4.7) and P. Robins (4.7) drew —no falls; T. Billington defeated B. Frankerberg, by 1 fall; D. Snelgrove and A. Hanson drew —no falls; R. Hancox defeated R. Wickens by 1 fall; G. Clark (Masterton) and D. Faulknor .(Eketahuna), drew —no falls; J. Serancke (Eketahuna) defeated E. Tozer (Masterton) by 2 falls to nil; A. Neilsen (Eketahuna) defeated H. Tozer (Masterton) —a technical decision. R. Sutherland and H. Hill gave a three-round exhibition which was full of thrills. The entertainment provided by Messrs King and Donald was much appreciated.
