WEDDING
FALLOON—RUTHERFORD. A wedding of widespread interest took place at St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, this afternoon when Helen Joan, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. W. Rutherford,. Glenmoraan, Masterton, was married to Terence Henry, third son of the. late Mr and Mrs J. W. A. . Falloon, Bowlands, Bideford. The Rev. E. J. Rich was the officiatin' minister and Mr Miller Hope was -a" the organ. The church was beautiful ly decorated by friends of the bride. As the bride entered the church Miss Mavis Giddings (Wellington) sang “Oh Perfect Love,” and also sanf during the signing of the register. The bride, who was escorted by her father, made a charming picture in white Nottingham lace cut on simple lines. The bodice was draped to the side at the neck and waist with circlets of orange blossom and true lovers knots, with long sleeves full to a point over the hand and the lone semi-fittinv skirt falling into a train at the back. She wore her mother’s orange blossom and veil, which formed a second train, and carried a sheaf of white roses and carnations. The bride was attended by Miss Maude Rutherford (sister), chief, Miss Marion Falloon (the bridegroom’s sister), and Miss Elsie Stewart (Palmerston North). They were dressed alike in frocks of pale green .georgette over taffeta. The simple bodices were finished with pointed collars with two anemones at the neck and long knife pleated sleeves. The double flounce skirt fell into a train. They also wore twisted girdles. On their heads were green pleated halos and they carried sheafs of anemones, violets and cyclamen. Mr Douglas Falloon attended his brother as best man and Messrs Rae Taaffe, Eliot and Geoffrey Falloon were ushers. As the bride left the church little Noeline Bee (Palmerston North), presented her with .a silver horseshoe tied with heather. The reception was held at Glenmoraan, the resident of the bride’s parents, where Mr and Mrs Rutherford assisted by Mrs Falloon, step-mother of the bridegroom, received the guests. The former wore a black and white frock with black hat and pony-skin coat. She carried a posy of scarlet lacnallia. Mrs Falloon was dressed in a royal blue ensemble with matching hat and silver fox furs and carried a posy to tone. Mrs Falloon, grandmother of the bridegroom, was attired in a black ensemble and car- • ried a posy of violets. The bridal party stood under a large heather bell in the hall receiving congratulations of their friends.. The bride’s going away dress was a brown angora wool ensemble, trimmed with astrakhan with hat, gloves and shoes to match. The future home of Mr and Mrs Falloon will be at “Rosebank,” Bideford.
