RIGHT HAND RULE
AN INTERESTING JUDGMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 17. A judgment of interest to motorists was issued today by Mr Justice Callan on the subject of the right-hand rule. The judgment was given as a sequel to an appeal in the Supreme Court to upset the decision of ..a magistrate who awarded damages to a motorist involved in a collision with defendant motorist. His Honour said the motorists at an intersection should first give attention to traffic on the right and ahead before any coming from the left. “There would be cases where the attention of a motorist was so absorbed in traffic from -the right that his protection on the left must consist largely in trusting that traffic on the left will perform the duty it owes to him.” The appeal was dismissed.
