DEMANDS FOR AN AWARD. CONSIDERATIONS BY RACING OWNERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A meeting of about fifty racing owners and trainers was held in Riccarton last night to discuss demands made by the . Stable Hands’ Union for an award. The Hon G. R. Hunter presided and Mr H. R. Sellers, secretary of the Racing Conference, was present. The demands of the union were gone into in detail and in discussions the point was stressed that the conditions of work differed substantially in racing and trotting stables. A committee was appointed to meet representatives from the Trotting Owners’ and Breeders’ Association next week. After this conference arrangements will be made for a meeting with representatives of the union to discuss the demands for an award.
