EDGES OF THE LAWN
KEEP THEM TIDY. Nothing looks more untidy or detracts so much from the appearance of the garden, as broken or worn edges to the lawn. Fortunately, this state of affairs may be easily remedied by lifting the turf and reversing the edge. Cut round the worn patches, going well back into the turf so that a firm edge is obtained. Then slice under the turf with a sharp spade, lift the turf and replace in the reverse position with the edge of the lawn or border. The bare portion can be renovated by levelling up with some fresh soil and sowing with grass seed.
