ROMNEY MARSH SHEEP
EVER-INCREASING DEMAND. MEETING OF’ BREEDERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ June 16. "The finances of the association again show a very satisfactory and gratifying position, this result being brought about by the ever-increasing demand for our breed throughout the Dominion from overseas,” stated the annual report of the New Zealand Romney Marsh Sheep Breeders’ Association. which was adopted at the annual meeting today. “The accumulated fund now stands at £2576 13s 6d, and the revenue shows an increase of £445 Is over last year.” The president, Mr J. Miller, presided, and was elected to that position for’ the ensuing year. Other officers elected were as follows: Vice-presidents, Messrs E. R. Black, Gisborne (North Island), and A. S. Murray, Mosgiel (South Island); treasurer, Mr R. W. Matthews, Featherston; auditors, Messrs. R. S. Glendinning, P. North and J. Corpe, Feilding. The retiring members of the council, Messrs G. E. Allen, Q. Donald, A. E. Harding, A. S. Holms, and W. C, Small, were reelected. The allocation of shields for the ensuing season was made as follows: — North Island Spring Championship Shield, Hamilton Royal Show; Autumn Shield, Masterton Show; South Island Championship Spring Shield, Southland Show; Wheeler Memorial Shield.
