RABBITSKIN SALE
PRICES AT WELLINGTON ADVANCE OF LAST MONTH The combined brokers, Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., held the second rabbitskin sale of the season at Wellington yesterday. Medium-sized-catalogues containing a good proportion of winter grades were offered, and met keen competition, realising excellent prices which were well in advance of those ruling at the first sale held here last month. First bucks made up to 88d; first does to 55d; incomings to 62d; late autumns, 51d; early autumns, to 28d. Summers, lower grades and faulty skins were also in better demand, and were from 2d to 6d dearer. The result of the sale indicates that trappers will receive far better returns for their skins than were anticipated earlier in the season. The following is the range of prices: ■ —Small, to 6d; runners, to lOd; racks, IOJd to 203 d; milky, 8d to 12d;summer does, BJd to 9Jd; summer bucks, 9jd to lOJd; autumn does, to 19d; autumn bucks, to 22d; dawny autumns, to 19jd; early autumns, 20d to 28d; late autumns, 34d to 51 d; broken, 71d to 25<d; F.S. and 8.5., 9d to Sid; hares. 13d to 16Jd; spring does, to 14d; spring bucks, 18d to 22d; black, 81d to 28d; incoming, 44Jd to 62d; early winter does, 40£d to 48Jd; early winter’ bucks, 54d to 74d; outgoing does, to 25d; outgoing bucks, 33d to 35d; spotted does, to 34d; spotted bucks, 50ad to 55d; winter does, 45d to 46d; winter bucks, to 70d; Ist does, to 55d; Ist bucks, to 88d; summer weevilly, 5d to 7d; winter weevily, lid to 13d.
