ANTLAIRCRAFT GUNS

PRIORITY OF PRODUCTION IN BRITAIN. STATEMENT BY SECRETARY FOR WAR. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 14. Answering questions on anti-air-craft defence in the House of Commons, the Secretary for War, Mr HoreBelisha, intimated that the Government had decided to give full effective priority to the production of antiaircraft guns- of modern type. He forecasted the early announcement of details of the reorganisation now in progress to ensure full and undivided attention being given to every aspect of anti-aircraft defence in view of its special importance in relation to the general military requirements. The reorganisation was also necessitated by the great expansion in the personnel. With reference to the latter, Mr Hore-Belisha observed that recruiting for the anti-aircraft divisions was proceeding with such remarkable speed that the first division which a year ago was 10,000 now numbered 20,000, and the second division, which was 9943 a year ago was now nearly 19.000.
