FEDERAL ACTING-MINISTER SUSPENDED. FOR CALLING INDEPENDENT “CLEANSKIN.” (Recd This Day, 11.20 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Acting-Minister for Commerce, Mr Cameron, was suspended, after a scene in the House of Representatives. This' is the first occasion in the history of the Commonwealth Parliament oh which a Minister has been suspended. ' Mr Cameron’s offence was that he described Mr Wilson (Independent, Country Party), as a “Cleanskin.” When he refused to withdraw, he was named by the Speaker and Ins suspension was.moved by the Prime Minister, Mr J. A. Lyons. He will be free to return to the House today and the episode will have ho repercussions. The term "cleanskin” has been applied in America and elsewhere to unbranded calves or other cattle.
