ANONYMOUS THREATS

ADDRESSED TO COLONEL LINDBERGH HAUPTMANN CASE RECALLED. FRENCH POLICE PROTECTING ISLAND HOME. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Copyright. LONDON, June 15. The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Herald” says that anonymous letters from America declaring that Bruno Hauptmann, found guilty of the murder of Colonel Lindbergh's child, was innocent, and threatening Colonel Lindbergh, who, the writers hold, was responsible for the execution of Hauptmann, sent French detectives racing to St Gildas, an island off the coast of Brittany, which the Lindberghs have made their home. The detectives are patrolling the coast on foot and in motor-boats. Nobody is permitted to land without permission.
