OLD PEOPLE WED
BRIDE A GREAT GRANDMOTHER.

Looking sweet-faced but self-con-scious, Mrs Minnie Parsons, aged 78. Paparoa, was led to the altar at the Pitt Street Methodist Church today as the bride of Mr Andrew Behersing, aged 72, a retired bachelor, of Dargaville, and formerly a farmer and a sailor.
Mrs Parsons some years ago celebrated her golden wedding to her first husband, who died five years ago. She has four sons, three daughters, 22 grandchildren, and nine great-grand-children.
The bridegroom, rosy-cheeked and with white hair and moustache, was immaculately attired. He missed securing the first kiss, but obtained the second.
“Well, sooner or later a fellow must swallow his anchor,” he remarked, when congratulated, referring to the need for settling down. , The couple will leave for the south tonight for their honeymoon.
