ROAD CYCLING
WAIRARAPA FORTY MILE RACE DATE FIXED FOR JULY At a meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Amateur Cycling Club held last evening, over which the President (Mr L. J. Tyler) presided, it was decided to hold a 40 mile open race on Saturday, July 9. The race will start at the Queen’s Hotel, and will be to the Tauherenikau Hotel and back. The date has been set aside by the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association for the local club, and all races in Wellington will be cancelled on that day so as to enable riders to compete in the Wairarapa race.
Together with riders from the Pahiatua, Woodville, Dannevirke, Manawatu. Levin, Foxton and Wanganui Clubs, it is confidently anticipated that there will be upwards of sixty riders competing.
