WEDDING

JACKSON—BASSETT. For her wedding at the Methodist Church, Woodville, recently, to Mr Walter Raymond Jackson, Miss Edna Margaret Bassett chose a lovely gown of white needlerun lace over satin. Her long oval train was edged with handmade white satin leaves, and the same motif was continued in a rose spray in the centre. She carried an arm sheaf of white bride lilies, white camellias, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The bride, who is the oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Bassett, Woodville, was attended by her sister, Miss Isobel Bassett (chief maid), and Miss Letty Simmonds, Carterton (cousin of the bride). Their frocks were of pink cobweb lace over satin, made with Elizabethan collars and finished with a spray of black velvet flowers on the front of the frock and also at the back of the collar. They carried pink chrysanthemums, roses, carnations and maidenhair fern. Beryl Bassett, small sister of the bride, was flower girl. She wore pink frilled spotted net over satin, and her posy was of pink rosebuds and carnations. The bridegroom is the fourth son of Mr and Mrs L. Jackson, Levin. He was attended by Mr R. Jackson, with Mr F. Baumber, Levin, as groomsman. Mr J. Jackson and Mr Mervyn Ticehurst were ushers.
