N.Y.K. SHIPPING

BUILDING PROGRAMME OF 21 NEW VESSELS.

The Nippon Yusen Kaisya have advised that they are commencing a building programme of 21 new vessels comprising 221,600 gross tons of shipping. At the completion of the programme the combined fleet of the N.Y.K. and its its subsidiary, the K.Y.K., will comprise 162 vessels aggregating 1,045,000 gross tons. The vessels will include two 26,500 ton superliners for the Orient-California service, the largest, fastest and finest ever to be built in Japan.
