BUSINESS ON DOMINION EXCHANGES DETAILS OF YESTERDAY’S SALES The following sales were recorded on the Dominion Stock Exchanges yesterday:—
GOLD MINING RETURNS Okarito Gold Dredging Co., Ltd., reports for four weeks from May 1 to May 28. 1938: Total gold won, 84oz. total time worked, 336 hours; total nonworking time, 240 hours; total yardage treated, 19,200 yards an average of 57 cubic yards an hour; average value of ground (on basis of gold worth £4 an ounce), 4.2 d a cubic yard. Waitahu reports: No. 15 paddock completed, final wash-up being 670 z. for 27 shifts of eight hours each. This makes a total of 2040 z. 4dwt. from the paddock since elevating operations began on March 26 this year. ■ For the week ended June 10, the llutha River dredge, operating at Alexandra, worked 122 hours and recovered 208 oz. of gold. The Mataki dredge return for the period ended June 12 was 230 z from 6000 cubic yards.
