General situation: The recent cyclonic depression is now centred north of Chatham Island; an intense anticyclone covers south-eastern Australia and the western Tasman Sea and is moving on to the Dominion. Forecast. Strong southerly winds to gale and in places strong gales. Weather changeable with some heavy showers. Snow on the ranges and in places hail, but improving tomorrow; temperatures cbld.
