Menzel (Czechoslovakia), 6/3, 6/2, 6/4. In the women's singles final Madame Mathieu (France) beat Madame Landry (Belgium), 6/0, 6'3. In the semi-finals of the mixed doubles, Boussus (France) and Miss Wynne (Australia) beat Lesueur and Madame Henrotin (France), 6/3, 6/2. WIGHTMAN CUP. LADIES' CONTEST. AMERICA DEFEATS ENGLAND. LONDON. June 12. America retained the Wightman Cup in the lawn tennis mat.ch against England by five matches to two. Additional results are as follow (American players mentioned first): — Singles: Mrs S. .Fabyan beat Miss M. Lumb, 5/7, 6/2', 6/3; Mrs H. WillsMoody beat Miss K. Stammers, 6/2,3/6, 6/3; Miss Marble beat Miss Scriven, 6/3, 3/6, 6/0. Doubles: Mrs Wills-Moody and Miss Bundy lost to Misses Dearman and Ingram, 2/6, 5/7.
