MASTERTON CLUB EVENTS.
CLOSE CONTESTS IN PAIRS SECTION.
The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club continued the pairs section last week, and most of the games were very closely contested. The results were as follow: —1,. Roff 17 beat Pickering 13; Lewis 15 beat Davies 12; Kennard 16 beat Vincent 13; Dixon 16 beat Thompson 10; Joyce 22 beat Ferguson 10; Leigh 17 beat’ Finlayson 12; Dixon 12 beat Hendry 11; Edwards 17 beat Reeves 15; C. Roff 12 beat Joyce 11; Hendry 19 beat,Fenton 15. Last Thursday a special four head knock-out pairs competition was held. Great interest was taken in this event, Grantham and Fenton (s) defeating Curtin and Kennard (s) in the final. The following are the games arranged for this week: —Tuesday, 7 p.m., No. 1. Finlayson v. Davies; No. 2, Ferguson v. Vincent. 8 p.m., No. 1, Fenton v. Thompson; No. 2, C. Roff v. Leigh. 9 p.m., No. 1, Reeves v. Dixon; No. 2, L. Roff v. Edwards. Wednesday, 7 p.m., No. 1, Kennard v. Lewis; No. 2, Joyce v. Hendry. 8 p.m., No. 1, Pickering v. Leigh; No. 2, Finlayson v. Kennard. 9 p.m., No. 1, Vincent v. Reeves; No. 2, Thompson v. Lewis. Players are asked to note the games and times allotted to them.
