IRELAND’S UNCROWNED KING. Clark Gable and Myrna Loy attain new heights of artistry together in “Parnell,” a drama suggested by the career of Charles Stewart Parnell, “Uncrowned King of Ireland,” which will be shown tonight at the Regent Theatre. Although it is primarily a narrative of Ireland, “Parnell” is actually international in its scope, for it is the account of a courageous man who surrendered fame and fortune and power for the woman he loved. Gable, as Parnell, unquestionably plays the most impressive role of his career and Miss Loy, as Katie O’Shea, reveals her remarkable" talent as an emotional actress. Edna May Oliver, Billie Burke, Alan Marshall, Edmund Gwenn, Donald Crisp, Berton Churchill and Donald Meek have prominent roles and in addition there is a large group of native Irish men and women who progentvide realistic atmosphere. The Regent shorts are of high standard, and includes the inimitable Robert Benchley in “A Night at the Movies,” also Australian and world news items.
