LONG SERVICE
PRESENTATION GATHERING.
At the sawmill and factory of Messrs C. E. Daniell Ltd. on Wednesday, a presentation was made to Mr W. Wellington, who has retired after about 45 years’ service. The presentation, on behalf of all members of the firm’s staff, was made by Mr G. J. Norris, who handed to Mr Wellington a beaten brass firescreen and woodbox of unusual design and very appropriate to the occasion, also a handsome reading lamp. Mr Norris referred to Mr Wellington’s early associations with the firm and congratulated him on the length of his service. Mr Norris assured him of the sincerest wishes of those gathered to honour him.
Mr Wellington thanked the staff for the presents and the manner and spirit in which they were given. Three cheers were given, followed by musical honours.
