LAND IMPROVEMENT
YOUNG FARMERS’ FIELD DAY An insight into approved methods of improving second-class country was given to members of the Tinui Young Farmers’ Club and others, at a field day held on Mr Hugh Morrison’s property, Awatoitoi, yesterday. There was an attendance of about thirty, including representatives of the Masterton and Carterton Young Farmers’ Clubs. In the morning an inspection was made of a drainage scheme, and of the developments made in second-class country in its various aspects. In the afternoon Mr Morrison gave an informative talk on the future of the Young Farmers’ Club movement.
Judging competitions were also, held, the results being as follow; Cattle for freezing purposes: K. McGillivray 1, L Mee 2. Sheep, for utility, J. Wingate 1, L. Mee and D. McGregor equal 2. The judge, Mr J. Mulvaney, gave an address on each of the classes.
The party was hospitably entertained by Mr Morrison.
