“A JUST GRIEVANCE”
CLASHING OF SHOW DATES A WAIRARAPA PROTEST “They have a just grievance, and I think we should support their protest," observed the president, Mr P. R, Welch, when referring at last night’s meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association, to a letter from the Wairarapa P. and A. Society protesting against the Royal Show being held at Waikato on the same dates as the Wairarapa Show. Mr J. M. James said his sympathies were with the Wairarapa Association, whose Show had been held on the same dates for the past 30 years. It was unfortunate that the two show dates should clash. Mr Gordon Lee said the Royal Show Society was at fault in allotting the dates for the Royal Show. Members agreed that the Wairarapa protest was justified, and the delegates to the Royal Society conference were instructed to support the protest.
