A CHALLENGE MATCH WON BY C. SMITH LTD: An enjoyable social gathering was held at the Masterton Y.M.C.A. last night, when the staffs of Messrs C. Smith Ltd., and Hugo and Shearer Ltd, met in a challenge table tennis match. The contest was won by the challengers, C. Smith, Ltd, by 21 sets and 43 games to 3 sets and 7 games.

The details are as follow:—-Ladies: Singles, C. Smith, Ltd., 5 sets, 10 games; Hugo and Shearer, Ltd., 1 set. 2 games. Men's Singles: C. Smith, Ltd., 5 sets, 11 games; Hugo and Shearer, Ltd., 1 set, 2 games. Ladies’ Doubles, C. Smith, Ltd., 3 sets, 6 games; Hugo and Shearer, Ltd., 0 sets, 0 games. Men’s doubles: C. Smith, Ltd., 2 sets, 5 games; Hugo and Shearer, Ltd., 1 set, 2 games. Combined doubles: C. Smith, Ltd.. 6 sets, 11 games; Hugo and Shearer, Ltd; 0 sets, 1 game.

Supper was provided by the ladies of both staffs.
