PERSECUTION OF JEWS
NAZIS SEIZE FAMOUS SYNAGOGUE. DEMOLITION ORDERED. (Recd This Day, Noon.) LONDON, June 9. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Munich correspondent says Herr Hitler yesterday ordered the demolition of the famous Jewish synagogue in order to make room for a new Nazi building. The destruction was begun today. Hundreds of Jews worked all night removing sacred scrolls. The Nazis are distributing a small sum to needy Jews as “compensation” for the Synagogue’s valuable property.
