NATIONAL WORK

VALUE OF WAIRARAPA AERO CLUB FEATHERSTON BOROUGH GRANT (“Times-Age” Special) “Although they are a private club, they are performing a work of national importance,” remarked the Mayor, Mr J. W. Card, when referring at last night's meeting of the Featherston Borough Council to an application by the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club for financial assistance. “From a defence point of view, their work in training pilots is very valuable,” Mr Card added, "and I think we should help them.” “Is is a step in the right direction,” observed Councillor C. R. Skippage, “I think we should make a small grant if we are able to.”

It was decided to make a grant of £5 to the club.
