STORING SWEDES

There need be no hurry to store this crop, as the garden swede is practically hardy.

Towards the end of July is a suitable period to lift. In cutting off the tops do not cut too close to.the crown, but allow about Jin of stalk to remain. The best material in which to store them is slightly moist sand, and the best place an odd corner in an outhouse, or cellar.
