GOLF CLUB ACTIVITIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The mixed foursomes for trophies presented by Mr and Mrs B. F. Schofield was played during the weekend, there being a full attendance of players. The best card was handed in by Miss Buckeridge and H. Paku. There are two rounds to be played for these trophies, and the final is to be decided on June 26.

On Saturday last Mrs Foreman defeated Mrs A. McGregor in a Kummerstein Cup challenge match, and A. McGregor was successful in a match with E. Nitz for the Nimmo Cup. Next weekend the annual inter-club match with Wainui-oru Club (Stronvar) will be played at Te Wharau, commencing at 10 o’clock sharp. The third annual golf tournament was held on the links on Monday, June 4. Two events each for men and ladies were carded. In the morning a qualifying round of nine holes was played, those qualifying competing in the East Coast Championship in the afternoon. The eight men who qualified were H. Paku, M. Paku, O. Williams, A. Gray, W. Kummer, E. Nitz, N. Kummer and R. Weston.

The qualifying ladies were Mrs Read, Mrs Schofield, Mrs I. McGregor and Mrs Nitz.

Those who failed to qualify played' in the Te Wharau Handicap.

In the championship, major honour* went to H. Paku, with O. Williams as runner-up. In the ladies Mrs Nitz took champion honourse with Mrs I. McGregor next. In the handicap event A. McGregor returned the best card, with I. Talbot and D. E. Williams equal for second. Mrs Foreman won the ladies’ competition, with Miss Harris second. PERSONAL.

Mr and Mrs Geo. Taylor and Miss M. Taylor, “Craigie Lea,” are visiting Auckland for the Northern meeting.
